Top gainers and losers of Tuesday's session
NEW DELHI: Domestic equity markets remained lackluster on Tuesday on the back of a spike in both consumer as well as wholesale inflation.
The Nifty50 index closed 38 points down at 10,187, while the Sensex settled 92 points down at 32,942 on Tuesday.
Hero MotoCorp, with a gain of 2 per cent, stood at the top in the Sensex kitty. It was followed by Axis Bank, Bajaj Auto, Reliance Industries, Mahindra & Mahindra, Lupin, Kotak Mahindra Bank and Maruti Suzuki.
Among the losers Power Grid Corporation cracked nearly 3 per cent to settle at the bottom in the Sensex index. Larsen & Toubro, Asian Paints, Tata Consultancy Services and Sun Pharma also figured among the top losers.
On the NSE, 51 stocks, including Action Construction Equipment, Balkrishna Industries, Goa Carbon, Graphite India, Hexaware Technologies and KPIT Technologies hit fresh 52-week highs.
However, over 28 stocks, including Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, Cambridge Technology Enterprises, Dena Bank, Reliance Communications, United Bank of India and Videocon Industries hit fresh 52-week lows on NSE on Tuesday.
