Cognizant Technology Solutions, headquartered in Teaneck, New Jersey has decided to postpone salary hikes and promotions by three months, citing visa curbs and IT stress.
Even though Cognizant employees are told details about their promotions by June every year, they were not expecting any promotions this time around, and hence the email has come as a surprise.
Cognizant’s chief people officer Jim Lennox has sent an email to all employees, in which has mentioned that salary hikes and promotions will be effective from October 1 this year.
It’s only been a few weeks that Cognizant came under the radar when a number of its employees alleged ‘forced’ termination, leading to IT unions petitioning against the company before labour departments in several states.
