Market Now: BSE Capital Goods index in the red; Suzlon Energy declines over 3%
NEW DELHI: Capital goods stocks Suzlon Energy (down 3.45 per cent), AIA Engineering (down 2.46 per cent), Bharat Heavy Electricals (down 2.42 per cent) and Reliance Naval and Engineering (down 2.41 per cent) were trading in the red dragging the BSE Capital Goods index a little lower in afternoon trade on Wednesday.
The S&P BSE Capital Goods index was trading 0.07 per cent down at 18,172 around 01:45 pm (IST).
However, shares of Carborundum Universal (up 2.32 per cent), Siemens (up 0.91 per cent), Sadbhav Engineering (up 0.35 per cent), Larsen & Toubro (up 0.33 per cent), Bharat Electronics (up 0.23 per cent) and V-Guard Industries (up 0.20 per cent) were trading up around that time.
Benchmark BSE Sensex was 132 points at 32,810, while the NSE Nifty50 index was 50 points down at 10,137.
Among the 51 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 16 were trading in the green, while 34 were in the red.
ICICI Bank, Asian Paints, Larsen & Toubro, Tata Consultancy Services, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Hero MotoCorp and Infosys were among the top gainers in the Sensex index.
On the contrary, Sun Pharma, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, ITC, Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra, Wipro and Hindustan Unilever were among the top losers.
