Market Now: Bank stocks trade with gains; ICICI Bank, BoB top gainers
NEW DELHI: Most of the bank stocks including ICICI Bank (up 1.92 per cent), Bank of Baroda (up 1.05 per cent), Axis Bank (up 0.94 per cent) and Canara Bank (up 0.82 per cent) advanced in morning trade on Wednesday.
The Nifty Bank index was trading 0.25 per cent up at 26,041 around 10 am (IST).
Shares of Punjab National Bank (up 0.82 per cent), IDFC Bank (up 0.75 per cent), Federal Bank (up 0.57 per cent) and State Bank of India (up 0.52 per cent) were also trading with gains.
However, Kotak Mahindra Bank (down 0.83 per cent), HDFC Bank (down 0.36 per cent), IndusInd Bank (down 0.28 per cent) and YES Bank (down 0.21 per cent) were trading down in the index around that time.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 13 points up at 10,714, while the BSE Sensex was 78 points up at 34,849.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 20 were trading in the green, while 30 were in the red.
In the Nifty 50 index, Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, Adani Ports SEZ, ICICI Bank and Bharti Infratel were trading among the top gainers.
However, Tata Motors, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Indian Oil Corporation, Vedanta and GAIL were among the top losers.
